It can be hard to stay positive when we feel constantly under stress. Daily life can feel like a daily trudge from one imperfect situation to the next: a stressful school run; demanding meetings; exacting conference calls; tedious commutes; missed family meals; tough conversations with grumpy teenagers.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and downtrodden, as if we’re in a hamster wheel running as fast as we can, but with no end in sight. Even going as fast as we can, doing as much as we can, we always seem to miss something, forget something, overlook something - and it’s always these things we end up focusing on when we’re struggling to sleep in the wee small hours.
Everyone has the occasional dip in mood where we feel a bit rubbish and fed up; those times where we’d like to just stay in bed all day and pretend we’re not home.
Stop. Take a deep breath and remind yourself of your reason to get out of bed in the mornings. Remember this is just a bad day, and tomorrow will be better.
